Green Cleaning with Bleach
I had a great question come in the other day. I was asked how you can do a Green cleaning program with bleach. My first response was to write back that "This is impossible. Bleach simply isn't Green!" But, let me be fair.
One of the factors about bleach is that it does break down once it has been used, so it does not create a downstream impact like products using phosphates and other polluting ingredients. Of course, you should know that bleach must be stored in a cool and dark area because it actually breaks down during storage and exposure to light an heat. So, fresh bleach is stronger than old bleach.
The obvious problem with bleach is that it emits VOCs into the air, and that is a very bad think. When you walk into a bathroom and smell that after-cleaning bleach smell, your mind says, "It must be clean in here!" It may be clean, but that smell is not good for you. Like the "New Car Smell," those are fumes from come from all the glues, vinyls, paints, and plstic used to make the car. They are mistaken for something that is good, but isn't.
The best advice that I can give you is "Stop cleaning with bleach." it isn't good for you or the family. If you want to kill germs, try some of the ideas in my book. Killing germs may be killing you as well.
Hey, get smart and read by book "Naturally Green Clean," and discover how to make your own Green cleaning products. Also, take advantage of my offer and get the book "How to Detoxify Your Home." I have a combo deal on my website that gives you the best of both books.
